Accelerated Bsn University

ACCELERATED BSN UNIVERSITY

The accelerated BSN programs are very beneficial in terms of reducing the number of nurse services shortage. The main goal of an accelerated BSN program is to compress the traditional four (4) year Bachelor Degree to only twelve (12) to eighteen (18) months of study. This method is very effective for students who do not have the spare time to attend the four (4) long years of a traditional BSN program.

Another good thing about accelerated BSN programs is that any applicant that has a non-related nursing Bachelor Degree can avail of the program. Provided that the applicant has a 3.0 average grade upon availing the accelerated BSN program. The program may run from a minimum of twelve (12) months up to a maximum of eighteen (18) to twenty (20) months depending on the school.

But an accelerated course such as the BSN program may have its little drawbacks. Compression of a four (4) year course into a year requires determination and a strong motivation to learn in a short time. Any applicant that may lose their edge and lags behind may not be able to cope up with the strict demands of being enrolled in an accelerated course.

Aside from this, a student has to cope with the heavy credit loads and intense clinical experiences that they have to go through. Accelerated BSN programs are not for everyone. Because a compressed course such as this will demand a lot of time and dedication. Heavy credit loads and intense clinical experience are to be expected.

The Concordia University accelerated BSN has a tuition fee that is set on $500.00 per unit. Accelerated BSN programs in other universities may range from $20,000 to not more than $30,000 for the whole duration of the program. For some students who may be tight on their budgets, there are hospitals and other-related institutions that offer an arrangement. The institution will be the one to shoulder all the school expenses in exchange for the work services that the student will provide.

The completion of the accelerated BSN program all depend on the student's availability, motivation and determination. There are universities that offer a twelve (12) month-accelerated BSN program. Just like the completion of a four (4) year Bachelor of Science in Nursing, graduates of an accelerated BSN program is eligible to take the National Council Licensure Examination. Successful examinees are granted licenses to work as Registered Nurses.
